Early Years and Education
Adekola was born and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun State, but his family is originally from Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Odunlade Adekola attended St. John’s Primary School and St. Peter’s College in Abeokuta, Ogun State, before completing the West African School Certificate Examination and receiving a diploma certificate from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY).
Odunlade continued his schooling, and in May of 2018, he graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Career
Odunlade Adekola started his career as an actor in 1996, the same year he joined the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners.
Over the past year, he has acted in, written, produced, and directed a number of Nigerian films. Adekola won the African Movie Academy Award for outstanding actor of the year in April 2014.
In December of 2015, he debuted in the Nigerian music industry. Photographs of Odunlade during filming are a popular internet meme throughout the Nigerian internet sphere.
On September 17, 2018, Odunlade Adekola was appointed as the brand ambassador for RevolutionPlus Property Development Company. It was a momentous occasion for him.
